¿Qué es la terapia CAR-T y por qué puede cambiar el lupus para siempre?

Is it possible to cure lupus? For the first time, CAR-T cell therapy—previously reserved for oncology—offers new hope for patients with refractory lupus. This is the CART-NeL Project at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. 🔬 WHAT IS LUPUS? Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's own immune system attacks its own tissues. Its complexity lies in the fact that it can affect virtually any organ: skin, joints, kidneys, and more. The severity depends directly on the affected organ. 🏥 WHAT IS THE CART-NeL PROJECT? It is an academic clinical trial led by the Clínica Universidad de Navarra with two objectives: 1. To offer advanced cell therapy to patients with refractory lupus in an accessible way, regardless of their economic or social circumstances. 2. To train professionals in Spain and other countries so they can bring these therapies to their home countries. 👨‍⚕️ SPECIALISTS PARTICIPATING IN THIS VIDEO Dr. José María Mora — Nephrologist Dr. Olga Sánchez — Rheumatologist Dr. Enrique Ornilla — Rheumatologist Dr. Ascensión López — PhD in Biological Sciences 🔔 Subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications so you don't miss the latest medical advances from the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. 🌐 More information about lupus: https://www.cun.es/enfermedades-trata... #lupus #CARPTtherapy #autoimmunedisease #clinicauniversidaddenavarra #celltherapy #SystemicLupusErythematosus #rheumatology #nephrology #medicalresearch
