Bhogali Bihu celebration

Magh Bihu is the festival celebrated in Assam. It is also known as Bhogali Bihu as it is the celebration of feasting. This bihu is celebrated at the end of harvest season. At the beginning of the month all the villagers make "Meji" and "Bhela Ghar" together. The women prepare different types of "pitha" and "laaroo" with bora rice, coconut, puffed rice and jaggery. At night all the youth go to "Bhela Ghar" and stay there the whole night by singing and feasting to celebrate their hardwork for fulfilled paddy. On the very next day the "Meji" is burned with worship to God of fire. In the same way , Kidzee Dharapur celebrated the most awaited Bhogali Bihu on 13th January of 2026 by making "pitha" and " laaroo" and burning "Meji" and worshipping the God of fire. All the children wore traditional attire of Assam and the made craft.
