Train Driver's POV Den Haag - Haarlem SGM 2018

I am proud to be a train driver for the Netherlands Railways, an awesome career with a nice company, and I really like to show it off! Nowadays all around the world people showcase their jobs: from pilots to ambulance drivers to the police force. At my channel I allow you a unique first hand look at what it means to be a train driver. I can proudly announce that I already have received a lot of comments from viewers, that by means of watching my videos, have decided to also become a train driver. Some of them even have already started their training! Besides, it is remarkable how many compliments are left by viewers from all over the world, who after watching my recordings, really admire the quality of the Dutch rail system. This is always a big compliment for me and my colleagues of NS (Netherlands Railways) and Prorail! As train driver you are responsible for driving safe, on time, comfortable and energy efficient, and that at one of the busiest railways of the world. I show you how I manage this everyday again together with thousands of enthusiastic colleagues. More than 90% of our trains run on schedule and that is quite an achievement! But what causes the remaining 10% delay then? I will show you the answer in the "the cause of delays' playlist, so that maybe you get a notion of why your train may run late. I was asked by a viewer if it was actually safe to be busy with a camera in the cab. I always make sure my camera is turned on before departure and only turn it off after arrival. Obviously! During the trip the camera is no hindrance and doesn't require any attention. More over, it is evident that, thanks to the camera, I focus completely at the task at hand, so you really should feel much safer in my train. I also was asked before if it was smart at all to show how to operate a train. Indeed you will see the actions in my videos, but I will give no explanation with it even though I have been requested many times. All rolling stock, hand and signal manuals are all available on the web and even Train Simulator shows you how. Although I doubt whether you would be able to move a train an inch at all without proper practical instructions. Furthermore I obviously do not give out any private information about the company or my colleagues. It really strikes me that there is a lot of respect for each other in the comment section and the mood is always friendly. It's also quite remarkable that you are very positive about the Netherlands Railways. I hope that my videos will contribute to that positive image of the NS and of all of my colleagues.
