I got Pinned to Tree by PFD

Pinned by tree during storm Chandra. Rathdrum to the Meetings Part 1. The bow of my boat drifted out as I was holding on to a tree on river bank and next thing I know I’m attached to branch by my floatation device. A reminder to myself to always make sure there is no slack in my PFD straps and never paddle rivers alone. Sharing this as a safety lesson to others. Also choose your get in wisely, I didn’t see this hazard til I was in the water with very little space to avoid it. Plus in flood, it was no longer an eddy at all. #kayak #wicklow #avonmore #ireland
