Het Open Lucht Theater Brunssum stond vanmiddag - vrijdag 10 juli 2026 - in het teken van Wereldklasse brassmuziek. The World Youth Brass Band (WYBB) 2026 - die tijdens het Wereld Muziek Concours in Kerkrade optreedt - stond onder leiding van Erik Janssen. Hij dirigeerde ‘n geselecteerde groep van 29 jonge koperblazers en slagwerkers (18–25 jaar) uit de hele wereld tijdens de projectweek van 5 t/m 12 juli 2026. Solisten uit Wales waren het echtpaar: Glyn Williams – euphonium Helen Williams – bugel (flugelhorn) Beiden zijn internationale Adams-artiesten en spelen bij de beroemde Cory Band. Tijdens de World Youth Brass Band 2026 verzorgen zij workshops én treden zij op als solisten onder leiding van dirigent Erik Janssen. Ook diverse muzikanten van de band leverden ‘n formidabele solistische bijdrage. The World Youth Brass Band (WYBB) 2026—performing during the World Music Contest in Kerkrade—was led by Erik Janssen. He conducted a select group of 29 young brass and percussion players (aged 18–25) from around the globe during the project week held from July 5 to 12, 2026. The soloists from Wales were the husband-and-wife duo: Glyn Williams – euphonium Helen Williams – flugelhorn Both are international Adams artists and members of the renowned Cory Band. As part of the World Youth Brass Band 2026, they are conducting workshops and performing as soloists under the direction of conductor Erik Janssen.
