Smallmouth Bass Fishing in Big Darby Creek Ohio (Surprise Catch on the Nikko Hellgrammite!)

The first time wading a new creek is always an exciting experience. Trying to catch fish in foreign water is a challenge that I love to embrace. Big Darby Creek is located in central Ohio and has some amazing fishing opportunities! On this particular day, the weather was overcast with slight showers. My first bait of choice was to throw on a whopper plopper 60. The conditions seemed right and I wanted to see if I could hook up and catch my first topwater smallmouth of the year.
