Coaster Trains in San Diego - January 21, 2005

On January 21st, 2005 passenger train service on the Surf Line north of Oceanside was suspended due to a bridge washout. As a result, no Pacific Surfliner trains were running that day. However, Coaster was running a regular schedule between San Diego and Oceanside. In this video, you will see the afternoon Coaster commuter rush starting with the departure of train 645 at 12:45 PM and going through the arrival of the second southbound coaster of the afternoon. You will even see a mix up where a switch was not set for the proper track at the depot, thus forcing southbound train 648 to stop rapidly and delaying it by 10 minutes.
