Hypnosis in the Media Episode 138

The term “Femme Fatale” has long described a mysterious, seductive, and sophisticated woman who uses her charms to influence others - most often males. Combine that archetype with the powers of a hypnotist and the result is a uniquely potent figure in popular culture. In Episode 138 we present Part 18 of “Hypnotic Women in Media,” tracing the evolution of “mesmerizing women” and the actresses who portrayed them from early cinema to modern television. “Dark Shadows" was a gothic soap opera that aired on ABC from 1966 to 1971 which featured two female characters who employed hypnosis.
