Milk Blessing Ceremony | Paal Arakhu | Davendra & Omana Dhareshini's Wedding

It is customary for the groom to ask for the blessings of Lord Ganesha before the wedding, through the milk blessing (or bathing) ceremony. Typically, this is done the morning of the wedding, but it can also be done the night before to have more time to get ready on the morning of the wedding. The ceremony starts by elders pouring milk and arugampul (Bermuda grass) on the groom's head. The Bermuda grass is only used for Lord Ganesha, and is a form of receiving his blessing. Then, water is poured over the groom and he takes his bath. This is the final ceremony before the wedding.
