In March 2021, on the eve of a Europa League game against Tottenham Hotspur, Dinamo Zagreb manager Zoran Mamić was handed an almost five-year prison sentence. His sentencing was the culmination of years of fraud, corruption, and the mass siphoning off of money at Dinamo Zagreb, and indeed, throughout much of Croatian football.
