Vietnam has a long-standing tradition of traditional medicine, with over 5,000 species of medicinal plants and approximately 11,000 licensed traditional medicine clinics and treatment centers. Many traditional medicine practitioners still preserve valuable remedies passed down through generations. However, in the last 5 years, almost no new family-inherited remedies have been registered or submitted for certification.
