CAMPEONES LIGA PREMIER SERIE A 🇲🇽 (3ra División) | 1967-2025

The Mexican Third Division, now known as the Premier League "Serie A" since 2017, was founded in 1967 by 16 founding teams. Over the years, its name and format, as well as its division, have changed. The Liga TDP is currently called the Third Division, but in practice it is considered the 4th or even 5th division of professional soccer in Mexico. The current third division has been the Liga Premier MX - Serie A since 1994. Only three champion clubs in the circuit have won the title in the 2nd Division, and therefore the only clubs from the latter category to reach the 1st Division were San Luis, Tecos de la UAG, and Oaxtepec. The Liga Premier is divided into Serie A and Serie B. Serie A includes clubs with the best economic and sporting infrastructure to compete for promotion, along with six affiliates from the Liga de Expansión MX.
