A321XLR FULL THRUST - Insane Sound | 35K BUMP Takeoff from Dublin, Ireland

Aer Lingus typically operates A321LR on their transatlantic routes, but since they have taken deliveries of A321XLR, the extra range provides greater route flexibility if a specific route on a specific day requires more fuel (usually weather related). On this day, thunderstorms were forecast all up and down the east coast of the US during our arrival time, especially near our arrival destination in Dulles. Dispatch wanted us to have enough fuel in the event of a diversion or delay in air. Diversion airports were BWI and PHL. They gave us one of their 2 or 3 XLRs at time of recording. I had a great chat with the pilots after landing about some of the quirks and features of this airplane. 1. Plane is equipped with 35Klb thrust engines, likely -1A35AX 2. Alternate flap configurations within flap 2 and 3 (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) change angle of inward flap, calculated by FMC 35K thrust was used for takeoff, though APU off, still resulted in an incredibly high N1 at 96.4%. To my knowledge, this is the first video in YouTube of a Leap-1A engine at 35k toga thrust, and the highest Leap-1A N1 ever uploaded. Takeoff performance is exceptional even at this weight. We used about 4500ft of runway despite an extremely high ptow.
