FULL HD Amelia La la la Human Steps: Mistaya Hemingway
La La La Humansteps . This will be Edouard Lock's legacy. This music here is a rework of Lou Reed's "Waiting For My Man". This is one segment - Mistaya Hemingway has become the "face" of the video but Jason-Shipley-Holmes stole this ballet and with subtlety. The entire ballet is in my "Various Dance" playlist. It seems as if Lock thread a strange needle with this romantic misogyny - the "man in a suit spinning ballerinas in his hands" thing sort of screams it and Shipley-Holmes is absolutely solid in that role. The power shifts drive this ballet. ***I would like to make a correction and I hope that you also will pass this along: having heard from Miss Hemingway directly that there was no alteration to the speed of this performance, that question can be put to bed. I was wrong and I am glad to be corrected on it. Lou Reed and David Lang composed some beautiful pieces and retooled others. Edouard Lock conceived and choreographed something so good that it was awarded for something somewhere and the dancers make it happen. Trifecta. -Fatova
