My Canopy Storage Solution - An Alternative to Traditional Drawers

Making the best use of the available space in my canopy was a very important issue for me. Working out how to carry my tools, without having them in boxes, because boxes means you have to move stuff to get to stuff...and that becomes are real PITA. After looking at the traditional style of drawer sets, my solution was to purchase and install a 6 drawer tool chest. With the wheels removed, this chest measures 750H x 680W x 460D. After removing the wheels, I fabricated an aluminium base that bolted to the chest where the original wheels attached. I added some angle iron tabs to allow me to secure the chest to the inner floor of my canopy....which is 19mm marine ply. All my tools from my original tool box, along with my socket set and spanner set, fit perfectly in the smaller drawers, leaving me plenty of room to carry my battery operated tools like a drill, impact driver, grinder and reciprocating saw in the larger bottom drawers.
