Project Wrangler Press Conference

On Monday, December 8, 2025, York Regional Police will announce the results of the multi-jurisdictional joint forces operation ‘Project Wrangler.’ York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween and Superintendent Simon James will be joined by representatives from our policing partners, Chief Nishan Duraiappah of Peel Regional Police, Chief Thai Truong of London Police Service, Chief Superintendent Joe Matthews of Toronto Police Service and Chief Superintendent Karen Gonneau of the Ontario Provincial Police. Project Wrangler began in the Spring of 2025, after a series of violent incidents took place across southern and eastern Ontario, and in Quebec. The incidents included murder, attempted murders, attempted kidnapping, armed robberies, home invasions, vehicle thefts and more.
