Maternal Health Systems Strengthening in the Acholi and West Nile sub-regions
In 2019-2024, UNFPA Uganda with funding from The Embassy of the Netherlands in Uganda implemented the Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (ANSWER) Programme in West Nile and Acholi sub regions in Uganda. “The goal of the four –year Programme was to achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health, realize reproductive rights, and reduce maternal mortality to improve the lives of women, adolescents and youth, enabled by population dynamics, human rights and gender equality.” The programme targeted 2,803, 552 young people (10-14 and 15-19 years), Women of reproductive age (15-49 years), sexually active men, Refugees, survivors of gender based violence and Persons Living with disability.
