We Bikepacked Through Remote Northumberland and Ancient Borderlands

In this adventure I take on a 2 day bikepacking route in Northumberland with singletrack through remote hills, valleys and rivers. Starting from the Scottish Borders and doing a figure out eight through Northumberland, the route takes in some relentless climbs and long open moorland descents through farms and villages in Northern England. I chose a short travel xc bike for this bikepacking trip which was the right choice for me. I chose not to use a seat pack so I could get full use out my dropper post and enjoy the descents. We were out in the remote mountains pedalling for several hours at a time in bad weather with no escape route. Definitely one to be prepared for all conditions.
