Wes Moreland's CHICAGO in 1/4" Scale

Wes lives in Houston, Texas but his highly detailed ¼-inch scale traction layout represents Chicago’s historic streetcar and rapid transit lines. He started the 10’ x 16’ layout in 1996. Wes built the ‘L’ structures, stations, and several of the buildings from scratch. The streetcars and ‘L’ cars were built from Q-Car Co. and Ashland Car Works kits. Yes, the streetcar models are powered from the overhead wire, just like the real thing! The “finished” portion of the layout represents the Ravenswood ‘L’ and Lincoln/Southport Avenues during the 1940s. Wes’s not-yet-completed model of the Dearborn/Van Buren station on the Loop ‘L’ is seen towards the end of the video. Don’t miss the outtakes at the end!
