There's an official sequel to The Godfather, written by Mario Puzo himself, that you probably haven't heard of, but it's important to know what it's about if you like The Godfather story. As I mentioned, it's canon, and it features several important characters, including Vito, Michael, and Clemenza, and provides some interesting details. The Sicilian is a novel published in 1984, in which Puzo tells the story of Salvatore Giuliano, an outlaw who existed in real life. However, this story is fictionalized and tells us details about Michael while he's hiding in Sicily, meaning it's set in the 1940s and early 1950s.
