First (successful) run with the PRR S1 'Duplex' ~ Train Simulator
I thought I'd have a look at DSGDDR's rendition of the Pennsylvania Railroad S1, a one-off 6-4-4-6 'Duplex' built in 1939. This is very high quality for a freeware add-on, and I think it puts some payware add-ons to shame (such as DTM's LWT-12 Aerotrain). Route availability for this thing is severely restricted, due to her long rigid wheelbase, but I managed to find a section of the Bessemer & Lake Erie route that she was comfortable with. The route used to be payware on Steam, but it's now available as a freeware pack from Railworks America. So for this video we'll be driving the PRR 6100 on a short passenger run from Albion to Conneaut Lake, stopping at Springboro on the way. This section is only 8.9 miles long, and the locomotive is pulling seven PRR and three Bessemer coaches. Currently the only Pennsy coaches I have in my TS collection are the basic P70s that come with Horseshoe Curve and the GG1.
