Frugal Living: Essential jobs from my 1940s garden book 🌿🧺
Come step into the quiet of a July morning at Wildwood Cottage. Today, we’re slowing down and leaning into the "Dig for Victory" spirit that still feels so relevant today. There is something so grounding about following the rhythms of the past, and today I'm turning to my 1945 garden guide for a little guidance. I’m getting our "Christmas potatoes" into the soil—Kestrel and Maris Pipers—tucking them in now so they can provide a little bit of magic and food security for our winter table. I’m also sharing a few of my favorite frugal garden secrets, like using old pot collars to help our tomatoes grow strong and deep roots, and the simple, meditative task of deadheading the roses to keep the cottage garden blooming. It’s a day for finding contentment in the simple things: the smell of the earth, a bit of sheep-poo fertilizer for the tomatoes, and the peace that comes from knowing we’re making the most of what we have. Grab a cozy drink and join me for a slow Sunday in the garden. 🧺🌿 In this diary entry: Planting late-season potatoes for a winter harvest 🥔 A frugal "pot collar" hack for healthy tomatoes 🍅 Rose care and quiet moments of cottage life Reflecting on wartime wisdom for modern frugal living #frugalliving #slowliving #1940s #wildwoodcottage #cottagecore #digforvictoryEnjoy ..xx If you liked this video and want to show your support for my channel, you can do so in the following ways:😊😊 Like, Comment and subscribe - these are free to do and will really help me grow my new channel 😀 You can also buy me a coffee via my KOFI Page if you want to help out with the running costs of the channel or buy me a coffee/beer: or STRIPE & THE GIRLS A TREAT 😀🎉😊 https://ko-fi.com/frugallivingwildwoo... 🌿 Join the Wildwood Community: / @wildwood_cottage (Become a member for exclusive perks like recipe cards, behind-the-scenes updates, and my monthly meal plans!) 🌿 My Amazon Storefront: https://amzn.eu/d/0bW42hxF A collection of my favorite kitchen essentials and gardening tools. ✨ Cottage Wishlist: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/...
