This time, we're focusing on the topic of rabbeting strips. Every good solid wood table, no matter how skillfully crafted, is essentially insured against warping with a rabbeting strip. Marco shows the easiest way to install rabbeting strips. We use rabbeting strips made of solid raw steel, which are first cleaned and treated with furniture wax to prevent them from reacting with the tannic acid in the oak. Then we cut the appropriate grooves into the wood with the router and screw the rabbeting strips to the table.
