Building a Dry Stone Cabin in the Mountains
Deep in a quiet mountain landscape, I built a dry stone cabin using one of the oldest construction techniques passed down through generations. Dry stone masonry is a timeless art that has been practiced in this region for thousands of years, with each stone carefully placed by hand—without mortar—to create a structure that is both beautiful and enduring. My hope is that this stone cabin will stand for generations to come. Long after I am gone, when I have returned to the earth and countless moons have crossed the night sky, this small cabin may still remain among the mountains and oak forests—a humble reminder that human hands once worked in harmony with nature. I hope you enjoy watching every step of this journey and find inspiration in the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and wilderness living.
