That is our original masochism, a childish position expecting the 'Big Other' to exist and sustain you. A strategy to remove him from the place of helplessness that is our place, we humans' place. God today is a commodity. An incredible product. We are in the age of immaterial capitalism. Someone positions themselves as a mediator and sells you this. Why isn't there a tax on churches? But this mediation is market, it's power. Churches are that. Capitalism sells things.
