3.10 to Yuma (Suite)
3.10 to Yuma (1957) directed by Delmer Daves is an impressive western featuring strong performances by both Glenn Ford and Van Heflin. The story by Elmore Leonard, sees Heflin's rancher agreeing to take a captured outlaw (Ford) to the marshal in Yuma for a reward, so that he can pay for water supplies for his drought stricken land. The tension mounts, when Ford's gang vow to set him free and it becomes an eventful journey to catch the 3.10 train to Yuma. The terrific music score was penned by George Duning and the vocal by Frankie Laine, who was no stranger to this genre has a beautiful haunting quality.
