Above Sicamous look out

Twist the throttle and leave the valley behind — the trails above Sicamous are calling. As you climb out of town, the pavement gives way to packed dirt and loose shale, and the real adventure begins. Your ATV carves through dense stands of pine and fir, the scent of forest thick in the air, while the rumble of your engine echoes off the hillside. The higher you climb, the more the world opens up. Pull up to the lookout and cut the engine — suddenly it's just you, the wind, and one of the most breathtaking views in the Shuswap. Below, the twin arms of Shuswap Lake stretch out in every direction, the water shimmering an impossible shade of blue-green against the surrounding mountains. The town of Sicamous sits tucked in the valley, tiny now, framed by peaks that roll on as far as the eye can see. It's the kind of view that makes the climb worth every bump and switchback. Whether you're out for a few hours or a full day on the trails, the lookout above Sicamous is a reward that never gets old.
