God does not change what is in them until a people change what is in them. When God wills that evil befall a people, it is not possible to turn it back. They have no helpers besides God. Al-Anfal 53: This is so because God does not change the favors He has bestowed upon a people until they change themselves, and God is All-Hearing and All-Knowing. An-Naba 20: The mountains are moved, becoming a mirage. Al-Kahf 28: Strive to be with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His good pleasure. And do not turn your eyes away from them, being inclined to the lure of the worldly life. And do not submit to one whose heart We have made heedless of remembering Us, who follows his own desires and whose deeds are excessive. Al-An'am 52: Do not drive out those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His good pleasure. You are not responsible for their reckoning, nor are they responsible for your reckoning, lest you drive them away from you and become one of the wrongdoers. Hud 29: (Noah:) "O my people! I do not ask you for any wealth for this. My reward is only with Allah. And I will not drive out those who believe, for they will meet their Lord. But I see that you are a people who act ignorantly."
