I went looking for the quiet, lesser-known areas along this nostalgic train line that runs from Enoshima to Kamakura. I start off at Katase-Enoshima and walk to Koshigoe, where the train line literally shares the road with cars (and has the sharpest curve in Japan). Then I stop at Shichirigahama—not Kamakura High School Station—because the ocean view here is just as good but way less crowded. Finally, I end at Gokurakuji Station, one of the least-used stations on the line, with a crazy railroad crossing right in front of a shrine.
