The production announcement for "Ultraman Orb," the newest installment in the "Ultraman" special effects drama series, which will premiere in July, was held on June 9th at the "Tokyo Toy Show 2016" (sponsored by the Japan Toy Association), a toy trade fair held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). "Ultraman Orb" is the 42nd new hero in the Ultraman series. Borrowing the powers of previous Ultra Warriors, including Ultraman, Ultraman Taro, and Ultraman Tiga, he "type-changes" into various forms with different characteristics to fight monsters. Hideo Ishiguro plays Gai Kurenai, a wandering young man who fights as Ultraman Orb, and Kiyotaka Taguchi, who also directed "Ultraman X," will serve as director. The series will air every Saturday at 9:00 AM on TV Tokyo starting July 9th. Appearances at the presentation included cast members Ishiguro, Matsuura Miyabi, Yanagisawa Shingo, and director Taguchi. The Tokyo Toy Show 2016 will see the participation of 160 companies and organizations, with approximately 35,000 toys on display. The event will run until the 10th as a trade fair for related parties, before opening to the general public on the 11th and 12th. Admission is free. More than 160,000 people are expected to visit over the four days.
