In an ongoing research of Central Asia, Termez, is one of the places that grabbed my attention while spending the summer in Uzbekistan. Used to be the only Buddhist region in the country and currently shares the border with a troubled neighbor, Afghanistan. Nowadays, the border is considered one of the most guarded in the world.
