Procession of Our Lady of El Rocío, Spain

On the night after Pentecost, the Hermandad Matriz leads an all-night procession of Our Lady of El Rocío through the town and to visits the houses of their filial brotherhoods. By midnight, the sanctuary is at capacity, as young men jockey for position to carry the Virgin's palio. The procession, which brings a million visitors to El Rocío, is raucous and frenzied.
