Later, I learned from Gamesrock that the newer version of the game actually does have an ending — you just need to find the alphabet hidden in the forest. In May this year, I contacted one of the programmers. While digging through the game files, I found the ending sequence and even the final music. The text at the end says something like “thank you job.” Funny enough, the dev himself doesn’t even remember if he made that ending. He told me I could create my own ending, but I’m not really good at editing or coding. If anyone knows how to read the source code or help with unlocking the ending, let me know. Fun facts: – The basement was added only in version 1.10a (I played 1.09 before — nice graphics, but bad controls). – In the files, when the Neighbor catches you, you can briefly see a key floating up and then dropping back down. – There used to be a site with old full versions of the game, like 1.0, where the Neighbor even had a mustache.
