Courtesy of the Mike Squier Archives, great British vocalist Eric Burdon interviewed in 1984 by Australian broadcaster Donnie Sutherland. It is impossible to overstate the impact of The Animals' House Of The Rising Sun, instantly topping charts upon release in 1964 and heralding a new dawn for British bands in the U.S. The Beatles having booted the door down, but Eric Burdon and his band stormed the barricades with this, the first true classic rock song.
