2434 is part of an 82 hybrid bus order placed by MiWay in 2023 as direct replacements for the remaining D40LFRs in service (units 0721-0725, 0801-0844 and 0901-0925). They are the first units to come equipped with permanent driver shields, which will be retrofitted onto existing buses in the future.
