Are we nicer than Jesus but more brutal than God? If we’re trying to get something out of our system, why use a system to do it? In this episode of the Kingdom Talks Show conversation between Chris Blackeby and hosts Gil Hodges and Bralynn Newby, the first off is that God is the only game in town. That was a given all Chris’s life, but through a progressive understanding of his relationship with God, particularly in the church settings to which he had been exposed, he moved on, all still within conventional precepts and doctrines. That was until he was confronted with a crisis. He came to a point of overload from the pressure of his work as a pastor. But more fundamentally, he was battling with the contradictions within himself - contradictions that we all share whether we recognize them or not. The only reason we forget them is that they were instilled within our soul and body by the age of three. Having now come to the realization that no degree or quantity of effort can fulfill God's desire and plan for us and the world, Chris Blackeby is now infectiously demonstrating the good news that is so good it seems too good to be true. The news that salvation is a free gift from start to finish.
