As Japan's disappearance problem attracts global attention, Ueno Park, where homeless people once formed tent villages, is the setting for this story. Centered around Ueno, a place dotted with art museums, museums, and a zoo that constantly attracts many people from both Japan and abroad, this human mystery focuses on "disappearance" as a way of life for one individual, and explores the connections between people who pass each other by. Mugi Kadowaki plays Satsuki, an employee of an NPO that supports people in poverty, who carries a certain loss in her own upbringing. Having expanded her activities in the Asian film industry, including appearing as a Taiwanese character in the Japanese-Taiwanese co-production "Old Fox: 11-Year-Old's Choice" (2024), she powerfully confronts the loneliness and emotional turmoil of those "left behind" by a missing person in this film. Naoto Takenaka plays Toshi, a homeless man who acts alongside Satsuki and believes he is the reincarnation of his deceased wife. He delicately and charmingly portrays a character living in the space between the present and memory. The director is Wang Chi, who spent his childhood in Japan and studied film in England. His short film "CAOCHANG" (2011) was selected for the Generation K Plus competition section of the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival, and his feature film "THE BARGAIN" (2021) won a Special Mention at the 26th Busan Film Festival. Wayne Wang, director of the beloved Harvey Keitel film Smoke (1995), co-wrote the screenplay, and the film brings together a cast and crew with roots in Japan, China, the United States, and other parts of the world.
