Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned three indigenously built naval vessels — INS Dunagiri, INS Agra and INS Sandhayak — at the historic Shama Prasad Mukherjee Port in Kolkata. The tri-commissioning ceremony marked a major milestone in India’s journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and showcased the country’s growing defence manufacturing capabilities. The vessels, designed by the Navy’s Warship Design Bureau and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, reflect India’s advancing maritime strength with over 75% indigenous content and contributions from more than 200 Indian MSMEs.
