29 Miles Across the North York Moors | Coast to Coast Day 8

Coast to Coast Day 8 took us from Danby Wiske to The Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge, and this was easily our hardest day of the whole route 🥾 We started the morning in Danby Wiske after a sausage and egg bap, then headed out towards the North York Moors. After crossing the busy A19, we avoided the 5.5 mile diversion, stopped for a little cafe break in Ingleby Arncliffe, and then the trail started to climb into some massive open views. Originally, we thought this day might end in a wild camp, but after checking the map we realised we could just about make it to The Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge. That sounded far too good to ignore, so we pushed on for a proper monster day. By the end, it was physically and mentally draining, but arriving just as it was getting dark and heading straight in for food, tea and a sit down made it all worth it.
