(SPOILERS BELOW) Scott Thompson was convicted of second-degree murder for the strangulation death of Cheryl Cain. In July 2010, Thompson was sentenced to life in prison for the murder. Scott Thompson, who was serving a life sentence for murder, died of an unspecified cause in prison on April 27, 2023. An official cause of death never been made available by the Florida Department of Corrections, just that he died in custody.
