L'ÉPOPÉE MARÂTHE (1), DE SAMBHAJI À SHAHU

The History of modern India was molded by two main factors : the well known British colonial conquest of the subcontinent, and the all too often forgotten (in Europe) rise of the Marathas, a hindu nation that originated in central India. Their history, from their uprising against the Islamic occupiers of the subcontinent, to their extraordinary rise in an India dominated by the powerful Mughal Empire, is absolutely fascinating.
