Gay rugby player Sam Stanley on ITV News London (1st September 2015 at 6pm) The first English professional rugby union player has come out as gay. Also interviewed was James Taylor of LGBT equality group Stonewall. Sam Stanley, publicly came out as gay on 30th August 2015. The 23-year-old English Sevens international is also the nephew of New Zealand’s 1987 World-Cup winning centre Joe Stanley.
