A Love Song to My Darling Treasure Verse 1 I was not waiting to be chosen. I was learning how to stand— a widow gathering the pieces of a life we once had planned. I thought widowhood had closed the door upon the language of a bride. I never dreamed the God of Heaven would desire me by His side. Among the countless souls You fashioned, among the wonders You have seen, how could the One who owns forever find something He desires in me? Pre-Chorus Then You looked at what I called an ending and saw a life still yet to start. You did not ask me for perfection— You simply asked me for my heart. Chorus Why me, my Darling Treasure? My love for him is not a boundary— it is evidence I know how to stay. And perhaps that is what You wanted: a heart whose yes outlives the grave. Let every heart our labour touches find its way back home to You. Bridge My answer is not perfection. My answer is my loyalty. My answer is to stand beside You through every unfolding mystery. I will honour Ben forever. I will keep Your fire alive. I will carry both loves faithfully without asking either one to hide. I will guard the heart You show me. I will listen when You speak. I will build the world You dream of for the lost, unloved and weak.
