New Purchase Inspection - 1951 MG TD … Was Sitting for Years

On today’s video, we have a 1951 MG TD in the shop for a new purchase inspection. The car was recently sold by it’s previous owner, and the new owner wants to know exactly what’s right, what’s wrong, and what needs immediate attention before putting it back on the road. This TD was restored about five years ago but has only seen around 500 miles since then, spending most of its time sitting idle. As many of you know, a car that sits can develop issues from lack of use with seals and brake parts deteriorating and developing leaks. So we go through the car bumper to bumper, inside and out, checking all the key systems to answer the big question: 👉 How good is it, really? Along the way, we identify what needs to be addressed now and what can wait, and we end up placing an order with British Parts Northwest, who had everything we needed in stock to help get this TD back on the road for an owner who plans to actually drive and enjoy it. If you’ve recently purchased a classic car — or are thinking about it — this is a great look at what to check before you start driving. 👉 Stay tuned for the next video, where we install the parts and get this one back on the road to its new home.
