INSTALLING A GFCI OUTLET--- WITHOUT TURNING THE POWER OFF!!
In this video, I show how I remove an existing 120V outlet (receptacle/plug) and replace it with a GFCI protected outlet. In the video, I do it with the power still on. However, I strongly recommend turning the power off at the breaker panel before anyone should attempt this. I also recommend, that you hire a licensed professional to perform any electrical work in your home. Even though I have done this sort of work many times without injury, I am not an electrical engineer or a doctor so I am not in the position to say what kind of injuries could be sustained from shock by household 120V power. This video is for entertainment purposes only. This video does show the basic function of a GFCI protected outlet, and how they are to be wired. Following the sequence that I follow could result in serious injury. In other words: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!
