What started as a rant about how people ignore Evelyn Nesbit's abusive past spiraled into a deeper dive into the long, dark, and frustrating history about how we treat young teenage girls who happen to be famous (usually as a result of a narcissistic, abusive mother). This video is a bit darker than normal, but the topic is long overdue. From Evelyn Nesbit, Brooke Shields, Britney Spears, and Miley Cyrus, society just loves blaming the girl-child for the actions of the adults who are supposed to protect her. I'm so sick and tired of all this victim blaming. We need to do better - tell history better and realize just because victims are now adults or passed away does not give us a free pass to share and consume problematic stuff.
