Yaesu FT-857D repair | Part 1

Bought this Yaesu FT-857D second hand with problems on the receive side being intermittent. I tested and found that was true. After some warming up time it went back working. Nevertheless I found so many odd things inside. The big problem is the MAIN UNIT. Some component ed are visibly faulty, and many traces are destroys. There are also signs of corrosion all around the board. PA unit is ok though. The front panel has some issues too. One spacer on the SEL knob is missing and the switch to select SP/PH is destroyed. At least the display is working perfectly as it’s been already replaced due to the line missing issue. Clearly so many hands have been in there. I’ll try the best I can to restore it.
