MSFS - How to plan and fly an IFR cross country, part 1
Hello flight Simmers, and welcome back to Alpha Hotel Flight Simulator Training. This video is #1 in a 3 part series where we'll complete the IFR cross country training required by FAR 61.65. Flying IFR cross country gives you a real good feel for how instrument flying is conducted on a day-to-day basis. In this video, we'll do a quick overiew of our 3 leg IFR cross country training trip we'll take, then we'll plan and fly the first leg. The first leg will be a flight from Addison airport (KADS) in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Tx area to Texarkana, AR (KTXK.) On this leg, we'll concentrate on navigating with ground based navaids. We'll fly a ground-based SID out of Addison, then fly a LOC back course approach into Texarkana, miss the approach, and then fly a VOR approach to a full stop landing.
