Everything had been prepared the night before, so a light, carbohydrate-rich breakfast and off we went. 🌅 This year, even more cyclists showed up. Every time a new group arrived, I thought, "Okay, we're off!" But there were more and more of us, and that's great! 🚴‍♂🚴‍♀🚴 My travel plan was simple: ride at the back of the line. Why? It wouldn't be possible to go fast anyway: the leader sets the speed limit, and everyone has a different riding style and comfortable pace. On flat sections, the group usually rides fairly tightly, but on climbs, it spreads out and slows down a bit. In the end, we had a great ride. The pace was practically perfect: we sped up where we needed to, like those "moose" 🦌, and otherwise, we rode "chill and easy" 😎 What can I say about the road? Since we were riding in a large group, the drivers were extremely polite, especially in parking lots and at intersections. The dirt roads pleasantly surprised us with their smooth rolling and surface. In places where you'd expect dust and bumpy roads, the surface turned out to be better than some asphalt sections. I even managed to maintain a speed of 30-35 km/h on the dirt roads. 🔥 But the concrete section really took the wind out of me. The joints between the slabs were especially annoying. It's a good thing it was almost before the finish. 😅 In Ovstug, they allowed us to park our bikes on the grounds of a local church. It was very convenient, comfortable, and safe. Thanks to Andrey Tolkachev! 🤝 The festival itself seemed different this year. Everything was calm and relaxed. We leisurely walked around the entire grounds, chatted with each other, and watched a few performances. The atmosphere of that era was truly immersive. I personally loved everything! And now about the shashlik! 🍖 Victoria and I decided to buy some shashlik this year, and we also bought some baked goods to go with it, like "an envelope with chicken and onions." My personal rating: 2/10. 😬 The shashlik marinade was very strange. It felt like one portion was marinated in salt, and the other in nothing at all. If you look at the meat piece by piece, one was so salty it stung your tongue, another was dry, and the third was perfectly fine. The envelope was also a bit dry. The return trip flew by quickly: one or two and we were already in Betovo, where the popsicles ran out, and then on to Bolgar. The journey was organized and at a leisurely pace. 👍 About the distance. From the center of the Sovietsky district of Bryansk, I planned a maximum of 90 km, but it ended up being about 84 km. A little about preparing for the trip for two people. Water: two 650 ml flasks, one 750 ml flask, and a 1.5 liter bottle of water. In Ovstug, we refilled our 1.5L bottle of water at a spring. The water there is incredibly fresh and, most importantly, delicious! 💧 Food: 150g of marmalade per person, two bananas per person, ice cream along the way, and shashlik and pastries in Ovstug. That's what we got. That's it!
