Building Bertie’s Personal Retinue with Warlord’s New Konflikt ’47 Automatons

Warlord Games sent me the new Konflikt ’47 Mk I and Mk II Heavy Automated Infantry kits, and instead of following the instructions like a reasonable person… I built Bertie a personal retinue. This project quickly evolved from a simple review into a full narrative force built around one idea: automatons that refused to die. Bertie’s retinue consists of battle-worn Mk I survivors repaired with whatever parts were available, a cloaked Mk II bodyguard, a heavily modified Universal Carrier fused with a crippled Mk II that dragged itself across the battlefield determined to survive, and perhaps my most ridiculous creation yet… the Double Decker, two Mk I automatons in a trench coat attempting to pass themselves off as a Mk II. Throughout this video, I showcase the incredible flexibility of Warlord Games’ new Konflikt ’47 plastic kits while sharing my kitbashing process, including how I create simple cloaks using baby wipes and Mod Podge, how I use found objects and spare bits to tell unique stories, and why sometimes the best hobby projects come from asking, “What if?” A huge thank you to Warlord Games for sending these kits over for review.
